The Yankees will be without star slugger Aaron Judge for the final stretch of the regular season, with the club announcing on Friday that the outfielder will head to the 10-day injured list with a right calf strain on Saturday. A corresponding move will take place at that time.
Judge was lifted for a pinch-hitter in the series finale vs. the Twins on Wednesday with what was described as stiffness in his lower right leg.
"I tried to kind of play it off and see how long we could go, because these games are important down the stretch,â Judge said on Wednesday. âÂÂBut kind of talking it over, I thought it'd be the right move to come out, so I don't cost the team on the field or cost the team on the basepath.âÂÂ
