Wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr.'s rookie debut was cut short on Sunday after he was pulled from the contest with an ankle injury. Shortly after the 23-10 Week 1 win, the New York Jets received an important update after Cooper was given his X-ray results.

Reports indicate that the 22-year-old wideout is dealing with an ankle sprain, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. The X-ray results came back negative, and now Cooper will be given an MRI to determine the severity of the sprain.

“X-Rays were negative for Omar Cooper, who is dealing with an ankle sprain. MRI coming,” Rapoport reported.
