The New York Jets were unable to defeat the New England Patriots on Sunday. New York made it more of a game late than it had been in the first half. But in the end, they couldn't get anything going. A major reason for this was the rather quiet day from wide receiver Garrett Wilson.
For most of the game, Wilson wasn't targeted much. In fact, the ball went his way just twice before the fourth quarter. He ended the game with four catches and 44 yards on six targets. After the game, he spoke about the lack of action his way.
“I try and reason it in my head because we've got a whole nother fourth quarter and I know that the game can change at any moment. Just try and keep playing my role, waiting for that moment that they want to call on me,” the Jets wide receiver said, via SNY Jets.
The Jets went down 17-3 at half time, with their hopes of winning waning. But New York refused to roll over for New England. An Omar Cooper Jr. touchdown and a field goal cut the lead to four entering the fourth quarter.

New York has shown a ton of grit this season, usually with Wilson among those leading the way. On Sunday, it wasn't enough. The Jets will go for their third win of the season on October 25 when they take on the winless Miami Dolphins.
