The New York Jets have reason for both optimism and concern after receiving contrasting updates on running backs Braelon Allen and Breece Hall ahead of their Week 8 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Allen, who was limited on Wednesday with an ankle injury, was a full participant in Thursday's practice, according to the team's official injury report. Meanwhile, Hall, nursing a quadriceps injury, was limited for the second straight practice this week. He suffered the quad strain in Week 3 versus the Detroit Lions and has missed the last four games.
Allen has led the backfield in Hall's absence, averaging 105.3 yards from scrimmage per game over the last four contests. He has exceeded 100 rushing yards in two of his last three games, including 104 yards on 17 carries in last Sunday's 28-25 loss to the Miami Dolphins, when he also set a career high with six receptions.

Rookie edge rusher David Bailey (groin), offensive lineman Max Mitchell (concussion), edge rusher Joseph Ossai (ankle) and defensive tackle T'Vondre Sweat (knee) did not practice for the second consecutive day. Bailey, the second overall pick, has 5.5 sacks in his first seven games.
The Jets (2-5) host the Raiders (3-4) on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET at MetLife Stadium.
