Frustration must be seeping in for the New York Jets after suffering their third straight loss, falling short against the Chicago Bears, 23-12, at Soldier Field in Week 4.

The Jets failed to figure out the Bears' stifling defense, recording just seven first downs and 157 yards overall. Chicago, on the other hand, logged 34 first downs and ran 89 plays, with running back Kyle Monangai rushing for 146 yards and two touchdowns.

Coach Aaron Glenn looked dejected after the defeat. He, however, received an encouraging message from coach Ben Johnson during their postgame handshake.

“Love you, man. You guys are close. You're right there. Keep going,” said Johnson.

“I appreciate you, brother,” replied Glenn.

Glenn recently vowed that they are trying to “close the gap.” There was plenty of optimism after New York upset the Tennessee Titans in Week 1. Now, Glenn will have to prove to everyone that it was not merely an aberration.

He acknowledged that they have a lot of holes to fill on both ends of the field.

“We have to do a better job of complementing each other, and that did not show up today at all. When you have the discrepancy of 89 plays and 32 plays, it's something we have to look at and something we have to continue to work on. The only thing we can do is continue to work,” said the 54-year-old coach in a report from the Associated Press' Jay Cohen.

The Jets have allowed an average of 24.6 points in their three-game losing skid.

They will host the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.
