The Miami Dolphins suffered another crushing loss in Week 5. Miami barely lost to Cincinnati, coming up short in the 31-24 shootout at Hard Rock Stadium. One unit is holding this team back, and their head coach was not shy about calling it out after falling to 0-5 on the season.

Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley called out his offense after another embarrassing outing from the passing attack.

“We’re going to need better consistency in our passing game, overall, in order to take the next step offensively,” Hafley said after the game, per Joe Schad.

Miami's passing game is without question the part of the offense that has not worked through five games. That was certainly the case on Sunday despite the Dolphins putting up 24 points.

Malik Willis finished the game 15-of-27 for 137 passing yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. He also added eight carries for 74 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground. That rushing production helps, but it cannot overcome how broken the team's passing attack has been this season.

Willis openly admitted that Miami needs to do a better job on offense if they are going to turn things around. That begins by doing some honest self scouting after the first quarter of the season.

“We've just got to go back to the drawing board,” Willis said after the game, per the Associated Press. “Watch these last few games, compare it to practice, understand what we’re good at, what we’re not good at, understand what guys are comfortable with and what they’re not comfortable with, and then just try to go and execute the next opportunity we can get.”

One big problem for Miami is that they simply lack the talent needed to pass the football consistently. De'Von Achane is already out with a torn ACL, leaving the Dolphins with a host of unproven players at the skill positions.

The Dolphins will enter their bye week at 0-5. Hopefully they can find some answers during that break.
