On Sunday afternoon, the Dallas Cowboys suffered a brutal loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Brazil by a score of 34-31. It appeared as though the Cowboys had done enough to send the game into overtime in the closing seconds, but Dallas surrendered a huge pass play to the Ravens at the very end and ultimately succumbed to a last-second field goal.
Things went from bad to worse for the Cowboys when safety Jalen Thompson went down with an injury, and now, the team has gotten the latest update on his status moving forward.
“Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones on @1053thefan said safety Jalen Thompson (hamstring) is likely out for four-plus weeks. With the injuries at safety, Jones said the Cowboys will be looking for help at the position,” reported Jon Machota of The Athletic on X, formerly Twitter.
It's certainly not a great update for a Cowboys team that was already looking quite shaky on the defensive side of the ball even before Sunday's game got underway, having been barbequed by the New York Giants in Week 1 and letting Marcus Mariota turn back the clock a bit down the stretch of Week 2.
It remains unclear where the Cowboys will go to look for the help Jones referenced, but clearly, the team is not content to sit back and watch as the season potentially gets away from them.
The Cowboys currently sit at 1-2 so far this year, and things won't get any easier from here, as Dallas will next hit the field against a desperate 0-3 Houston Texans team next week.
