Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs has scored a touchdown in every game this season. If he scores one on Sunday, he’ll match an accomplishment only achieved by the Lions’ greatest running back.

Hall of Famer Barry Sanders scored 57 touchdowns before his 25th birthday, the most in NFL history for a player before reaching age 25. The 24-year-old Gibbs has scored 56 touchdowns in his career, so he’s one away from tying Sanders and two away from breaking his record.

Gibbs doesn’t turn 25 until March, so it’s a near certainty that he’ll score two more touchdowns and move ahead of Sanders.

Gibbs is currently tied with Todd Gurley, who scored 56 touchdowns before turning 25, for the second-most touchdowns by a player 24 and younger in NFL history.
