The Jacksonville Jaguars came up a with a huge win on Sunday in London, over the Philadelphia Eagles. Jacksonville quarterback Trevor Lawrence spoke postgame about the fans in Europe. He was a bit peeved that the fans seemed mostly to be cheering for the Eagles.
“I thought it was supposed to be a home game for us over here,” Lawrence said, per NFL Network.
Lawrence had lots of reasons to be pleased, though. Jacksonville got a game-winning field goal to defeat Philadelphia, 19-17. It was a bizarre game for the Jaguars, as the team had to work with one of their defensive tackles at the long snapper position.
Jaguars kicker Cam Little booted through a 57-yard field goal to end the game. It was the second field goal he made on Sunday to help his team.
Trevor Lawrence led the Jaguars to a wild victory over Eagles
Lawrence had a solid day. He threw for 331 passing yards and two touchdowns, with an interception. The quarterback was fired up after seeing his team win at the end of the game.
“One of the craziest games, maybe the craziest game I’ve ever been a part of,” Lawrence said, per the Associated Press, “and I’ve been in some pretty wild ones. Just how cool is this sport? The game’s never over.”
It wasn't just Lawrence who put in the work for Jacksonville. The Jaguars also got a solid performance from their defense.
“The Jaguars, who entered Sunday No. 2 in the NFL in scoring defense, registered one sack – shared by safety Antonio Johnson and defensive end Travon Walker. They now have 11 sacks this season,” the team reported.
The Jaguars did have to overcome a great deal of mistakes to ultimately win the game. Jacksonville committed a whopping 13 penalties, for 100 yards.
Jacksonville is now 4-1 on the year following the win in London. The Jags next play the Houston Texans on October 18.
