The Jacksonville Jaguars are adding another young piece to their defense ahead of their Week 2 road matchup against the Denver Broncos, signing outside linebacker BJ Ojulari.

NFL Network’s Jordan Schultz reported the move Tuesday via X, formerly known as Twitter.

“Sources: The #Jaguars are signing former #Cardinals OLB BJ Ojulari.

“Still just 24 years old, Ojulari was a 2nd-round pick in 2023 out of LSU.”

Ojulari, 24, spent his first two NFL seasons with the Arizona Cardinals after the organization selected him with the No. 41 overall pick in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

The former LSU standout immediately carved out a role in Arizona’s defense as a rookie. Ojulari appeared in all 17 games during the 2023 season, finishing with 40 total tackles, including 23 solo and 17 assisted. He also recorded four sacks, two stuffs for one yard and one pass defended.

Ojulari missed the entire 2024 season before returning to action in 2025. He appeared in eight games during his comeback campaign and recorded nine tackles, including six solo, along with one sack.

Jacksonville will now give Ojulari an opportunity to provide additional depth to its pass rush as the team looks to build on a strong defensive showing in its season opener.

The Jaguars forced two turnovers in their dominant 34-10 Week 1 victory over the Cleveland Browns, recovering a fumble and recording an interception. The performance helped Jacksonville open the season 1-0.

Ojulari’s arrival gives the Jaguars another former high draft pick to work into their defensive rotation as they prepare for their first road game of the season.

Jacksonville will face the Broncos (0-1) on Sunday at 4:05 p.m. ET on CBS.
