The Jacksonville Jaguars look to be in complete control of the AFC South. Jacksonville lost a heartbreaker in Week 6 but they are still in command of their division at 4-2. The Jaguars will be an interesting team to watch at the trade deadline, even if they don't move one of their offensive weapons.
NFL insiders Ian Rapoport and Adam Schefter shared intel from around the league in a recent article. They talked about multiple trade candidates before the deadline on November 10th. There is one snag in all of the trade rumors surrounding Jaguars receiver Brian Thomas Jr. — Jacksonville isn't interested.
“The mercurial Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver is a first-round talent who is now in his second season as the subject of trade rumors,” Rapoport and Schefter wrote. “Jacksonville has shown no signs of engaging in trade talks, though teams are expected to ramp up calls closer to the deadline. Thomas didn't play in the second half last week against the Houston Texans, furthering speculation.”
Thomas has had an unbelievable fall from grace over the past few seasons. He was incredible as a rookie, logging 87 receptions for 1,282 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. However, everything changed once Liam Coen came to town for the 2025 season.
Now BTJ is an afterthought in Jacksonville's offense. The third-year receiver only has nine receptions for 105 receiving yards and a touchdown this year on 19 targets.
It is surprising to hear that the Jaguars are not interested in trading Thomas. He does not appear to be a part of the long-term plan in Jacksonville, so getting some value from him would be wise.
Article Continues BelowPerhaps Jacksonville will adjust their strategy if they receive a lucrative offer on Thomas. But at this point, it is safe to assume BTJ isn't going anywhere.
The Jaguars are on their bye in Week 7. They have extra time to prepare for a Week 8 contest against the Colts.
