Kansas City Chiefs superstar defensive tackle Chris Jones is expected to play Sunday night against the Indianapolis Colts despite dealing with a calf injury. Jones entered the weekend officially listed as questionable after being limited throughout the week. However, the latest Week 2 injury reports say that the All-Pro interior defender had tested the leg and was good to go for the Week 2 showdown at Arrowhead Stadium.

Head coach Andy Reid had already expressed optimism about Jones’ availability. This situation mirrors Kansas City’s season opener. That's when Jones managed calf tightness before ultimately playing against Denver. The Chiefs elevated defensive tackle Marcus Harris from the practice squad Saturday for additional depth. Of course, having Jones available remains a significant boost against the Indianapolis offense. With starting left tackle Josh Simmons and safety Chamarri Conner ruled out, Kansas City will need its defensive centerpiece to help maintain its physical edge.

Kansas City enters Week 2 riding momentum after a convincing 31–10 victory over the Denver Broncos. Patrick Mahomes looked comfortable and mobile in his return from knee surgery. Newly acquired running back Kenneth Walker III erupted for 173 rushing yards and two total touchdowns. The Chiefs will make adjustments around the injuries to Simmons and Conner, with Kahlil Benson handling tackle duties. Jaden Hicks should step into the secondary. Still, Jones’ expected return gives the Chiefs defense a crucial anchor.
