The New York Yankees recently learned that superstar Aaron Judge would be out for the team's upcoming Wild Card series, which will most likely take place against the rival Boston Red Sox. Judge had only recently returned from a ribcage issue when he exited with a different injury, and now the Yankees will have to soldier on without its best player once again.

However, not everyone is giving up hope for the Yankees' chances against Boston, despite the tough setback.

“Yankees fans are justified in worrying about Aaron Judge's injury. But remember: NYY is 7-6 vs. BOS, and Judge played in 3 of those games. The Red Sox have averaged only 3 runs per game vs. the Yankees. The Yankees have given up the fewest runs in the MLB,” reported MLB insider Jon Morosi of the MLB Network on X, formerly Twitter.

The Red Sox got off to a tough start to this year but have turned it up several notches as the season has gone on, now coming into the playoffs with legit World Series title aspirations.

Meanwhile, the Yankees have been mostly consistent throughout the year, doing an impressive job of holding down the fort despite injuries to Judge and several other key players during the season.

As Morosi mentioned, the Yankees found considerable success against the rival Red Sox this year, and they will also have the benefit of playing the upcoming series at home. New York's stellar pitching rotation also figures to translate well to a postseason setting.

In any case, the Yankees' Wild Card series is set to get underway on September 29 from Yankee Stadium in The Bronx.
