Fast bowler Marufa Akter has been ruled out of Bangladesh's squad for the Women's Emerging Nations Trophy with an ankle injury. Opener Shathi Rani and allrounder Jannatul Ferdus have been recalled to the side, while uncapped fast bowler Disha Biswas was also included in the squad led by Nahida Akter.
This will be Nahida's first tournament as T20I captain since she took over from Nigar Sultana last month. Sultana is also part of the 15-member squad, in which Sobhana Mostary has been named vice-captain.
Batter Sarmin Sultana and offspinner Sultana Khatun, meanwhile, have been left out.
Rani, who has played nine T20Is, last turned out for Bangladesh in the T20 World Cup in 2024. Ferdus has played seven ODIs and four T20Is and last played for Bangladesh in April 2025.
Biswas, meanwhile, earned her Bangladesh debut earlier this year in the third ODI against Australia, after impressing with the ball for the Emerging team during the tour of South Africa in July-August.
Bangladesh have been drawn in Group B alongside Pakistan, Thailand, Netherlands and Zimbabwe for the 10-team event that begins on November 12 in the UAE. Bangladesh's first match is against Pakistan at the Karwan Cricket Ground in Ajman on the opening day.
