The San Diego Padres are pushing feverishly for an NL Wild Card spot. If they are fortunate enough to get back to October, they have OF Dustin Harris to thank.

Since joining the Padres in July, Harris has been on an absolute tear. In 19 games, Harris is batting .370 with an .888 OPS. He has also driven in 10 runs and has 11 RBIs.

On MLB Network, analyst Jon Morosi explained why Harris has been a huge factor lately amid a playoff push. After a season in which he bounced from team to team, he is finally hitting his stride.

“It's time for America to tune into this young man,” Morosi said. “He has played in the majors for three different teams this year. He has now found a home.”

On top of that, Harris has formed a unity with left fielder Samad Taylor in that position. Meanwhile, the Padres are on a good run, winning 10 out of their last 11 games. As of now, they are 84-69 and are in a tight race for the National League Wild Card.

They are in a three-way battle with the first-place Chicago Cubs, followed by the Philadelphia Phillies.

This year, Harris played for the Chicago White Sox and Houston Astros. From 2024 to 2025, Harris played for the Texas Rangers.

The Padres wrapped up a four-game series against the Colorado Rockies, winning three out of four. On Thursday, Harris went 3-for-5 with 3 RBIs in a 9-2 victory.

The Padres will begin a three-game home series against the Miami Marlins on Friday.
