The Atlanta Hawks had a solid year on defense last season, and it was once again led by Dyson Daniels and what he's able to do on the perimeter. Outside of his defense, he made a big impact on the Hawks' offense as well, but it didn't come from the 3-point line. It was a down year for him in that category, as he shot just 18.8%.

During the offseason, Daniels was seen working on his jump shot, and it's something he noted during Media Day that he plans on improving.

“Obviously, shooting was very bad last year for me, and it’s been a focal point for me in this offseason,” Daniels said. “For me, it’s been about the sequencing in my shot, getting more rhythm through my shot, and getting more energy through my legs so I can get my arc up. A big thing with me was it was a very flat shot, so trying to get more arc. That’s been a big focus for me this offseason.”

It's safe to say that Daniels looked good in the offseason videos, and the hope is that some of that translates into the season. As much as everybody wanted to talk about his shooting, he had a career year with the Hawks, and it was because of his ability to do everything else on the court.

If Daniels is able to get his 3-point percentage back up this season, there's no telling what kind of impact he could have on the team this season. It definitely makes the team more of a threat on offense, and it opens up space for everybody else on the court with him.

The Hawks were able to add more 3-point shooting on the team during the offseason, but they also added more defense, which should make them even better this year.
