The Cleveland Guardians have been praised for picking up outfielder Jo Adell ahead of this year's Major League Baseball trade deadline. Adell has made an immediate impact in Cleveland, and that continued on Sunday. He blasted a moonshot that made franchise history.

Adell went deep with a solo home run in the third inning of a Guardians game Sunday against the Minnesota Twins. He is hitting at a .237 batting average this year with 21 homers.
Adell previously played for the Los Angeles Angels, before he was traded at the August 3 deadline. The outfielder has made some spectacular catches in the outfield this season. He is now also adding even more offense since he was dealt to Cleveland.
âÂÂ[HeâÂÂs] a very good complement to our lineup,â Guardians president of baseball operations Chris Antonetti said, per Sports Illustrated. âÂÂâ¦âÂÂWe are in a competitive position in a very competitive division in a competitive American League. If there were opportunities to improve the team at costs that we thought were reasonable, we wanted to try to do that.âÂÂ

The Guardians need Adell. Cleveland is chasing the Chicago White Sox in the American League Central standings. Heading into Sunday, Cleveland holds a 75-74 record.
The outfielder is enjoying his time with his new team.
