The New York Giants are out to a strong start to the 2026 NFL season. New York is 4-2-1, and leading the NFC East. The Giants are reportedly looking for more help before the NFL trade deadline on November 10.
According to one league insider, New York wants a running back. There is one player the Giants have had their eye on.
“I believe the Giants are trying to be buyers…..Jonathan Taylor would be the most interesting name. How good would this Giants team be with a dynamic running back in his prime,” NFL insider Ian Rapoport said, per ESPN's Big Day. “The answer is very, very good.”

Taylor, who plays for the Indianapolis Colts, is from the state of New Jersey. This season he has posted 610 rushing yards and eight touchdowns on the ground.
The Colts running back has been listed by some NFL writers as a trade candidate. He has made a powerful impact in the Indianapolis offense.
“Taylor has run into the Indianapolis record books with a franchise-record 77 rushing touchdowns. Only Baltimore's Derrick Henry has more explosive runs (10-plus yards) since Taylor entered the league,” ESPN reported.
Giants may be looking for other help as well
Rapoport believes that New York is also looking for help on defense, before the trade deadline passes.

New York is under first-year head coach John Harbaugh. Even though the team lost starting quarterback Jaxson Dart to injury, New York is leading the division and in strong contention for a spot in the NFL Playoffs.
It has been a while since the Giants were contenders in the NFC. The Giants struggled in recent years under former head coach Brian Daboll. New York fans are closely watching as the team looks to make a strong deal before the November 10 deadline.
The Giants next play the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
