New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers shared an encouraging update regarding his shoulder after suffering an injury during Monday night's loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
Nabers was listed as a limited participant in Wednesday's walkthrough, but he was upgraded to full participation on Thursday. He also underwent X-rays on his right shoulder, which produced favorable results.
“I'll be fine,” Nabers said Thursday. “I'm smiling, I'm out there playing, catching the ball. So good results.”
The 23-year-old returned to Monday night's game after the injury, although his production dropped considerably after Jameis Winston replaced starting quarterback Jaxson Dart. Nabers finished the game with one reception on four targets for one yard.
Nabers has previously dealt with shoulder problems but did not disclose whether his latest issue involved the same shoulder. He also did not indicate that the injury would prevent him from playing on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans.
The positive update comes as the Giants prepare to make a quarterback change following Dart's season-ending injury. Dart was placed on injured reserve Thursday, meaning Winston will take over under center.
New York also has other injury concerns heading into Sunday. Left tackle Andrew Thomas went from limited Wednesday to not participating Thursday because of a groin issue. Outside linebacker Brian Burns also missed practice for a second consecutive day with an ankle injury and is expected to miss multiple weeks.
The Giants will release their official injury designations Friday.
