The New York Giants recently got the crushing news that quarterback Jaxson Dart would be out for the remainder of the season due to a knee injury he suffered against the Los Angeles Rams earlier this week. The ball is now in Jameis Winston's court to try to keep the Giants afloat, with an easy stretch of schedule coming up giving him a good opportunity to prove himself.
Now, Giants running back Cam Skattebo has reacted to Dart's injury with a heartfelt take.
“It sucked… He's my best friend so it's a little emotional for me… But we got to move on,” said Skattebo, per SNY Giants on X, formerly Twitter.
Indeed, Dart and Skattebo have become known as good friends off the field during their time together as teammates in New York after they were both drafted by the Giants last year.
Both players have shown quite a bit of potential when they've been on the field, but unfortunately, injuries have also played a major role in their story, as Skattebo missed the second half of last season with an ankle injury, and Dart is now out for the remainder of this year after playing just one game and change.
Meanwhile, it remains to be seen if the Giants will explore the market for a backup quarterback or stay content with Winston as the starter heading into the rest of the season.
The Giants will next hit the field on Sunday at home against the Tennessee Titans at 1:00 pm ET.
