Raiders carry mostly encouraging medical news into a critical AFC West showdown, though one key interior absence tests their depth

The Las Vegas Raiders head into Week 4 looking to make a signature statement in a fierce divisional battle against the Kansas City Chiefs. Facing a familiar rival always demands peak physical readiness, and Las Vegas enters the weekend in relatively strong condition overall. While a long week of preparation brought several names to the official report, Friday's final designations indicate that head coach Antonio Pierce and his staff will have the vast majority of their core contributors available on game day.

The most significant setback on the injury report comes along the offensive interior. Guard/center Jackson Powers-Johnson has officially been ruled out for Sunday's contest after failing to log any practice activity throughout the week. Powers-Johnson did not participate on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday due to a lingering groin injury. His absence deprives the Las Vegas offensive line of a physical anchor capable of setting the tone in the trenches, placing added pressure on the interior reserves to hold up against complex blitz packages and interior pressure.

Quarterback Aidan O'Connell represents the only other Raider carrying a formal designation into the weekend. O'Connell is listed as questionable after missing all three practice sessions this week due to non-injury, personal reasons. If O'Connell is unable to dress or serve in his usual capacity, the Raiders will have to adjust their depth behind the primary signal-caller on Sunday afternoon.

Aside from Powers-Johnson and O'Connell, the remainder of the Raiders' injury report features encouraging developments across the board. Every other player listed has cleared the injury report without a game status designation, indicating they are ready to suit up without limitations.

Rookie running back Ashton Jeanty was monitored closely during the early portion of the week with an ankle issue, but he alleviated any concerns by logging full participation in Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday practices. Jeanty’s clean bill of health ensures the Raiders can lean heavily on their ground game, utilizing his burst and tackle-breaking ability to dictate the pace of play and sustain drives.

Star tight end Brock Bowers also avoided an injury designation despite being added to the report late in the week. Bowers did not appear on Wednesday or Thursday's reports, but he was registered as a limited participant during Friday's session due to a knee concern. Because he carries no game status tag, Bowers is expected to handle his standard featured role as a mismatch weapon over the middle of the field and in the red zone.

Wide receiver Cody White also made steady progress throughout the week. After working as a full participant on Wednesday and Thursday despite an ankle injury, White was listed as limited on Friday. However, like Bowers, he carries no final designation and remains available to bolster the receiving corps. Fellow receiver Malik Benson fully participated all three days while managing a knee issue, securing his readiness on the outside.

Defensive depth intact after productive practice week

On the other side of the ball, defensive coordinator Patrick Graham will have his regulars in the secondary and defensive front ready to roll.

Defensive tackle Foley Fatukasi was a full participant in every session despite dealing with a shoulder issue, providing necessary size and gap control on early downs. Safety Treydan Stukes cleared the league's concussion protocol cleanly, registering three straight days of full participation.

Safety Tristin McCollum also logged full practices Wednesday through Friday while managing a knee issue. In the secondary, safety Isaiah Pola-Mao and cornerback Eric Stokes were held out of Wednesday's session before returning as full participants on Thursday and Friday. Pola-Mao shook off a foot ailment, while Stokes showed no ill effects from an ankle injury. Both defensive backs enter Sunday without any injury designations, giving the Raiders their full stable of coverage options against a formidable divisional opponent.
