The Green Bay Packers' struggles in the first half of their Thursday Night Football matchup against the visiting Atlanta Falcons at Lambeau Field in Green Bay have fans calling for the NFC North team to finally get rid of head coach Matt LaFleur.
The Packers started hot, intercepting Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. before wide receiver Christian Watson scored a touchdown to give Green Bay a 7-0 lead. But it went downhill from there to the end of the first half for the Packers, who trailed the Falcons by 10 points after two quarters.
Fans have taken their frustration on the Packers to social media, with many expressing their desire to see Green Bay fire LaFleur.
“Fire Lafleur and Gute. If that doesn’t happen get rid of Ed Policy too!” a fan said.
“Been saying we should fire LaFleur for 2 years…Refreshing to see that other people are starting to see it. Way too late though,” a social media user on X shared.
“At this point i hope we go 1/16 just so we can fire Matt LaFleur,” another one commented.
“They’re entire team needs a reset. Trade Love. Fire Lafleur.,” a different fan said.
“I wonder how much longer they’ll allow this before they fire Lafleur. At some point uncomfortable decisions has to be made #Packers,” another comment read.
Green Bay started the season flat, as they got stunned by the Minnesota Vikings in a 39-22 loss on the road in Week 1. They finally got a W in Week 2, but still looked shaky in doing so, needing overtime to overcome Geno Smith and the New York Jets in a 20-17 victory.
A Packers loss to Atlanta could get LaFleur's seat warm, if it isn't already.
