The New Orleans Saints will host the Atlanta Falcons in an important NFC South matchup. Both teams currently sit at 1-2 in the division, and the winner will slide into first after four weeks.

These are two injury-depleted defenses, and that’s going to play a huge role in this game. Both defenses also struggle with what their opponent wants to do offensively.

The Falcons are already without Jalon Walker, James Pearce Jr., and A.J. Terrell Jr. on defense. That gives a massive edge to the Saints' passing attack, as they’re without two edge rushers and their shutdown cornerback. Divine Deablo and Samson Ebukam are also questionable for this game.

New Orleans currently ranks third in the NFL, averaging 281.3 passing yards per game. They’re throwing the ball at the fifth-highest rate (64%) in the league. Travis Etienne’s also been ruled out for this game, meaning the Saints could be forced to lean more on their passing attack than usual.

On the other side, the Saints have several defensive players on IR, and Carl Granderson, Kaden Elliss, and Anfernee Jennings have all been ruled out this week. Pete Werner is also questionable after not practicing at all, and New Orleans could be without the majority of their linebackers.

Our Current Best Offers

The Falcons are currently running at the highest rate (54.7%) in the NFL this season. They’re averaging 173 rushing yards per game, although this is boosted by their 242-yard performance against the Green Bay Packers. The Saints do rank near the bottom of the NFL, allowing 4.7 yards per carry in 2026.

These are two teams that are giving up a ton of red zone opportunities this season. Overall, they’re combining to allow 8.3 red zone trips to their opponents. They’re two of the worst rates in the NFL.

The offenses have found touchdowns when they’ve gotten in the red zone. The Saints rank third in the NFL in red zone touchdown percentage (81.8%). The Falcons rank fourth (80%), although they’ve seen very limited red zone opportunities this season.

Both offenses should have the advantage in the way they want to move the ball. If they can both consistently get to the red zone, they should find the over in this game.
