Division rivalries run deep in the NFL. For some teams in particular, their rivalries are an incredibly serious matter. Even when he's already with the Atlanta Falcons this year, defensive tackle Gervon Dexter still seems to have his old mentality when he was with the Chicago Bears.
After the Falcons' dominant win over the Green Bay Packers, Dexter took inspiration from one of his former teammates in Chicago. Dexter reposted a viral video of former Bears wide receiver DJ Moore. The video features Moore after winning a game against the Packers, where he says some… not nice things about his then-rivals.
Dexter was a former draft pick of the Bears. Drafted back in 2023 in the second round, the defensive tackle played a big role in the team's success last season. However, Chicago cut ties with Dexter this offseason, trading him to the Falcons this offseason for Clark Phillips and a fifth-rounder.
The Falcons completely dominated the Packers on the road 35-14 in quarterback Michael Penix Jr's return from an ACL tear. Running back Bijan Robinson led the way on the offensive side, recording nearly 200 rushing yards and two touchdowns on the day. Penix talked about his return.
“I got two words: But God,” said the young quarterback. “I'm just so thankful, so blessed to be back in this position. I've been fighting and scratching for a long time to get to where I'm at today .”
The Falcons' defense also dominated the Packers' offense for the most part. They held Green Bay's offense to just 14 points on the day, coming up clutch in multiple situations.
