On Sunday, the New England Patriots picked up their biggest win of the 2026 NFL season with a thrilling road victory over the Buffalo Bills to push their record to an even 2-2. The Patriots came into this game under immense pressure after getting blasted by the Jacksonville Jaguars last week, and they responded to the task by controlling most of the game on Sunday and putting things away late.

Although they ended up trailing in the fourth quarter, New England won this game thanks to a late, unbelievable touchdown grab from unheralded wide receiver Efton Chism III, who held onto the ball with one hand on a good throw from quarterback Drake Maye.

The Patriots ended up winning when Bills star QB Josh Allen threw an ill-advised interception on the ensuing Buffalo possession.

Maye in particular was facing heavy scrutiny entering this week after suffering a rough start to the season, and he responded to the call on Sunday, throwing for 269 yards and three touchdowns against just one interception.

Despite all the turbulence they've experienced so far this season, the Patriots are right where they started at the .500 mark and are eagerly anticipating the injury return of star wide receiver AJ Brown.

While the Bills have been rough on defense all year, it's still certainly a feel-good moment for Maye, who desperately needed a bounce-back game after his struggles so far.

The Patriots will look to move to 3-2 when they next hit the field next Sunday at home against the upstart Las Vegas Raiders.
