Peterborough United have sacked manager Luke Williams less than two hours after losing to Doncaster Rovers on Saturday.
Williams, who had been in charge of Posh since October last year, departs with the club sitting 23rd in League One.
The defeat to Doncaster proved to be the final straw for the boss, with his side winning just one of their first seven games.
What did Peterborough say in their statement?
In a statement, Peterborough wrote: "Peterborough United Football Club has today parted company with First Team Manager Luke Williams.
"On behalf of everyone at the Football Club, we would like to place on record our thanks to Luke for all his efforts during his time at the Weston Homes Stadium.
"This is not a decision the club has taken lightly.
"However, the team's form in Sky Bet League One has not matched the Board's expectations, particularly given the significant investment made in the squad.
"And following today's performance against Doncaster Rovers the Board felt it had no other choice but to make a change.
"The club's existing coaching staff will take charge of the first team squad while the Board considers its next steps."
Across his 11-month tenure at Posh, Williams took charge of 47 games and won 18, losing 20 and drawing eight.
Doncaster were bottom of League One heading into their clash at London Road on Saturday afternoon.
But their victory over Peterborough lifted them to 21st and dropped their opponents down to 23rd, leading to Williams' dismissal.
