Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Edmundo Sosa exited Wednesday’s National League Wild Card Series Game 2 against the Atlanta Braves after appearing to aggravate a groin injury in the ninth inning.
Sosa beat out a leadoff infield single with the score tied 3-3, then called for the training staff and came out of the game. Derek Hill replaced him as a pinch-runner with nobody out and the Phillies season on the line. Phillies Nation documented the injury and substitution on X, formerly Twitter, shortly after the play.
