The Philadelphia Eagles took on the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday afternoon. It was a battle of two highly respected teams in the NFC. The Eagles had a 10-point lead at one point. Unfortunately, they were unable to come away with the win.
It was a rough game offensively for the Eagles. Jalen Hurts threw for just 93 passing yards against the Rams on Sunday. The team overall managed just 172 yards of offense. However, the true nail in the coffin may have been the team's brutal showing on third down.
“Eagles went 0 for 12 on third down against the Rams. Went 0 for 5 in the second half last week against the Bears. Their last third down conversion was over 90 minutes of game clock ago,” ESPN's Benjamin Solak pointed out on social media on Sunday.

It certainly did not help that the team was without Saquon Barkley for a good amount of the contest. Barkley left in the in the first half after suffering a hamstring injury. He picked up the injury as he was running out of bounds near the first down marker.
Philadelphia knows it needs to be better moving forward. They cannot have this trend continue in the coming games. The Eagles will look to right the ship on October 11 when they travel to London, England, to play the Jacksonville Jaguars.
