The Philadelphia Eagles are currently looking to get out of their current tailspin as they prepare for this week's game against the Carolina Panthers. The Eagles have lost three straight games and have played recently without Saquon Barkley, who is nursing a hamstring injury suffered against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 4.

Now, the team has gotten a new update ahead of this week's game vs the Carolina Panthers.

“Did not see Saquon Barkley during short time we were out at Eagles practice,” reported Tim McManus of ESPN on X, formerly Twitter.

McManus also reported that “Devonta Smith was warming up but did not have a helmet on when we were out there.”

Smith and Barkley were two of the many Eagles players to go down with injury during their loss to the Rams, and things have only gotten more dire for the Eagles since then, as Lane Johnson abruptly retired and the team then traded Cam Jurgens to the Baltimore Ravens in a shocking move.

Last week, it appeared that the Eagles had secured a surprise win over the Jacksonville Jaguars late, but the team then allowed a monster kickoff return with eight seconds left that put Jacksonville in position to win the game with a field goal, which they did.

Things won't get any easier against a Panthers team that cruises into this matchup at 2-2, having most recently defeated the Detroit Lions.

In any case, kickoff between Carolina and Philadelphia is set for Sunday afternoon at 1:00 pm ET.
