Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley sustained a hamstring injury during the 24-20 Week 4 loss to the Los Angeles Rams that knocked him out of the game early. While his official status is currently unknown, rumors are swirling that the club could be without Barkley for the Week 5 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network sparked speculation during the latest segment on SportsCenter. Although it sounds like the 29-year-old ball carrier may have avoided a serious injury, Rapoport suggests Barkley may need time to recover from the hamstring injury.
“Saquon Barkley's dealing with a hamstring injury,” Rapoport said. “Not considered to be a major injury, but I do expect him to miss time, which means he would not be out there this week for the Eagles. Tank Bigsby also dealing with a core muscle injury.”
