On Sunday afternoon, the Philadelphia Eagles hit the field at home for a big matchup against the NFC rival Los Angeles Rams. The Eagles got some tough news early in this one when running back Saquon Barkley exited the game with a hamstring injury and was subsequently ruled out for the remainder of the contest.

Unfortunately, that bad injury luck continued later in the game on the defensive side of the ball.

“Jonathan Greenard limps to the medical tent after that second-down pressure on Matthew Stafford,” reported Tim McManus of ESPN on X, formerly Twitter, later reporting that Greenard had gone back to the locker room.

The Eagles also later reported that star cornerback Quinyon Mitchell was questionable to return after suffering a knee injury, per their account on X.

Greenard and Mitchell are two of the key cogs on the Eagles' star-studded defense, a unit that was eviscerated last week against the Chicago Bears and Case Keenum but rebounded with a strong performance to open up the game against the Rams, holding Los Angeles to just ten points over the first three quarters of the game.

The Eagles will certainly hope for good news on Greenard, Mitchell and Barkley moving forward as the 2026 NFL season progresses, while also trying to hold down the fort for the rest of the Rams matchup.

After the Rams game, the Eagles will next hit the field next Sunday for a tough game against the Jacksonville Jaguars overseas in London. That contest is set to kick off at 9:30 am ET.
