Former undrafted free agent Darius Cooper made the biggest play of his Philadelphia Eagles career when they needed it most, hauling in a late touchdown to complete a 24-20 win over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday in Week 2.

Philadelphia entered the final two minutes trailing 20-17 after Joey Slye converted a 33-yard field goal to finish a 69-yard Titans drive. The Eagles had no timeouts remaining, but quarterback Jalen Hurts engineered a nine-play, 65-yard possession that lasted 1:47.

Hurts made several pivotal completions during the comeback, including throws to Dontayvion Wicks and DeVonta Smith. Smith's 19-yard catch on third-and-6 moved Philadelphia to the Tennessee 3-yard line with 14 seconds remaining.

That set up Cooper for the game-winning moment. Hurts found the 24-year-old wide receiver in the back of the end zone for a three-yard touchdown with nine seconds left. Jake Elliott's extra point put the Eagles ahead 24-20 for the comeback.

Cooper finished with just two receptions for 26 yards, but his second catch became the game's defining play.

The touchdown showcased Cooper's remarkable rise, who spent much of his first season contributing on special teams after earning a spot on Philadelphia's 53-man roster. He finished that season with nine catches for 92 yards. This year, his role had begun to change after the Eagles traded AJ Brown and revamped their wide receiver group, leaving Cooper and Smith as the only returning receivers from 2025.

Cooper also generated plenty of attention during training camp, repeatedly making highlight plays and earning Hurts' praise. He did not record a catch in Philadelphia's 24-22 Week 1 win over the Washington Commanders but made four special-teams tackles.

His opportunity against the Titans increased, and he ultimately came through with the play that moved the Eagles to 2-0.

Hurts finished 26-of-37 for 264 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. His first interception came in the opening quarter and was returned 92 yards by Amani Hooker, setting up Tennessee at Philadelphia's 10-yard line. Hurts also threw his second interception in the fourth quarter before leading the winning drive.

The Eagles also overcame injuries during the game. Saquon Barkley suffered a stinger on the opening offensive snap but returned in the second half, while Dallas Goedert sustained a right knee injury and did not return.

Jalen Carter also made a crucial contribution late, sacking Cam Ward for a nine-yard loss on first-and-goal and helping force the Titans to settle for three points.

Philadelphia's road trip continues Monday, Sept. 28, with a matchup against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field.
