The Philadelphia Eagles have probably dealt with the most injuries to their star players so far this season, but the league waits for no one. They still have to go out on the field without them and face the Washington Commanders in Week 6, and it'll be next man up for the group.

As far as the running back group goes, it's uncertain who's going to be the lead at this point, especially after Will Shipley was placed on injured reserve, according to the team.

Shipley was injured last week against the Jacksonville Jaguars and didn't return to the game. The Eagles were already without Saquon Barkley and Tank Bigsby, and they had to use Dameon Pierce for the rest of the game. It looks like they'll be doing that again this week, as Barkley has been ruled out again, and Bigsby is still on IR.

The run game hasn't been working for the Eagles at all this season, and there's a chance that they'll still struggle with the injuries they're dealing with.

Outside of the run game, DeVonta Smith has also missed time because of a hamstring injury, and it's uncertain when he'll be back on the field. The most recent injury was one that probably hurt the most, as Jalen Hurts will be out indefinitely due to blood clots in his calf. There's no telling how long treatment could be for the blood clots, but his health is the most important thing right now.

As of now, the Eagles will be led by Tanner McKee at quarterback, and the hope is that he can get them back in the win column after losing three straight games. It won't be easy for McKee, especially this week with the team depleted of its top offensive options.
