The Atlanta Dream advanced to the semifinals of the playoffs after sweeping the Washington Mystics, but they received some more good news in the midst of that. Angel Reese was announced as the league's Defensive Player of the Year for this season, becoming the first player in Dream history to take home the award.

Reese once again led the league in rebounds and was No. 3 in steals per game, just behind her own teammates, Rhyne Howard and Jordin Canada.
