Tyler Glasnow struggled to keep the Los Angeles Dodgers' season alive four days ago. He now just revealed who he's pulling for between the Tampa Bay Rays and Cleveland Guardians during the ALCS.
The long-haired former Rays pitcher sat close to the action during Game 6 of the American League Championship Series. And he wasn't the only one taking in Tropicana Field.
The Rays entered Monday earning a chance to win their third-ever American League pennant. Glasnow played six of his 12 MLB seasons with Tampa, including starring for the franchise's 2020 team that faced LA for the World Series title. His Rays fell 4-2 during the truncated '20 season due to COVID-19.
Glasnow received his first-ever WS ring with the Dodgers last season, striking out 106 batters and allowing 56 hits. He joined the likes of Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Blake Snell, even Shohei Ohtani in helping comprise the rotation on the hill during that title run.
But the Dodgers watched their three-peat World Series title hopes implode at the hands of the Milwaukee Brewers, who await the Rays/Guardians winner.
Los Angeles manager Dave Roberts made the bold decision to start Glasnow over Game 1 starter Tarik Skubal or even Yamamoto. Glasnow became lights out early on the mound as his team jumped to a 4-0 lead in Game 4. But he later allowed four unearned runs to allow Milwaukee to get back into the game. He even allowed a David Hamilton RBI smash after firing a 91 miles per hour slider.
Meanwhile, his former team jumped to a 3-1 lead through six innings over Cleveland. Glasnow even sat and watched the Rays' Chandler Simpson deliver a MLB Playoffs milestone during the Monday game.
