Emmet Sheehan is back in the minors after short return to the big leagues with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

On Monday, the two-time reigning World Series champions announced that the right-handed pitcher has been sent back to the minors, while right-handed hurler Paul Gervase has been recalled.

The move comes on the heels of a solid start against the Miami Marlins in a series finale on Monday at LoanDepot Park in Miami. In that game, the 26-year-old Sheehan pitched six scoreless innings, giving up only two hits and a walk, while fanning five Marlins hitters on 81 pitches.

During the two starts with the Dodgers before getting optioned again, Sheehan surrendered just a run with a 15:22 strikeout-to-walks ratio over the course of 11 2/3 innings.

Of course, the move on Sheehan sparked plenty of strong reactions from fans online.

“You sent the wrong fn guy. You should've sent Tanner.,” a fan said.

“Are you freaking kidding me!! It should be Tanner!! 🤬,” a social media user on X shared.

In 22 starts thus far in the 2026 MLB campaign, Sheehan has a 5-8 record to go wioth a 4.79 ERA and 1.21 WHIP.

Meanwhile, this is not Gervases' first rodeo with the Dodgers this season. He previously toed the rubber four times for the powerhouse National League West club in 2026, allowing two earned runs on seven hits with five walks and eight strikeouts across 7 2/3 innings of relief.
