The Buffalo Bills are set to take on the 0-2 Los Angeles Chargers in Los Angeles in hopes of moving to 3-0 on the season. Superstar QB Josh Allen has dealt with a “hater” as well as a banged-up receiving corps whose status has been in question leading up to Sunday's game.
The statuses of two of Allen's top targets, DJ Moore and Keon Coleman, were revealed leading up to the game, painting a murky picture as shared by Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.
“Bills listing WRs DJ Moore (shoulder) and Keon Coleman (ankle) as questionable, with Joe Brady telling reporters he'll give them until game time on Sunday vs. the #Chargers. Same with DT Ed Oliver (hip).”
The Bills have been a run and tight end dominated team so far this season with running back James Cook and tight end Dalton Kincaid their two leading yardage men aside from Allen's passing statistics. Moore's injury status was previously downgraded and could hinder his quest to become a productive starter similar to previous stops in Chicago and Carolina.
If Moore and Coleman don't play or are limited on the field against the Chargers, the Bills have other options at their positions including veterans Khalil Shakir and Joshua Palmer. Both are solid possession guys with the ability to break a long play every now and then.
The Bills will almost certainly rely on Allen and Cook's legs, and Allen's decision-making, as their bread-and-butter along with a team-first approach that has gotten them far in recent years. Brady looks like the right fit as the team's new head coach so far, giving Bills fans hope for their first Super Bowl appearance since way back in 1994.
