The Miami Dolphins have looked like the worst team in the NFL through three weeks. Miami lost another game on Sunday, falling 24-10 against Kansas City to become 0-3 on the season. To make matters worse, the Dolphins lost De'Von Achane to a knee injury early in the contest. Now they will have to face the rest of the 2026 season without him.

Tests confirmed that Achane did tear his ACL in Week 3, an injury that will knock him out for the rest of the season. Achane signed a four-year, $68 million extension with Miami back in May. It is good to see that Achane got his bag before suffering this injury. But aside from that silver lining, this is catastrophic news for a Miami squad that was already seriously lacking firepower on offense.

There's no question that this is terrible news in fantasy football as well. Achane is one of the best backs in the NFL when healthy. His elite speed and ability to rip off long touchdown runs makes him an incredible asset in fantasy football.

So what will happen with Miami's offense moving forward? And will any Dolphins player emerge as fantasy options for the rest of the 2026 season?

Ollie Gordon, Jaylen Wright should be priority waiver wire targets

Naturally, the two players most likely to fill in for Achane are the biggest beneficiaries here.

Gordon took over for Achane in Week 3, racking up 17 carries for 41 rushing yards and a touchdown. That is a pretty inefficient showing, but he did score 10 fantasy points because of that touchdown.

Meanwhile, Wright did not play on Sunday because of a foot injury. But the speedy running back should be back at some point soon.

One of these players, or a combination of the two, will take over Miami's backfield for the rest of the season.

Part of the logic here is simply based on opportunities. Starting running backs can earn a lot of carries and (in theory) get touches close to the goal line. That ability is huge in fantasy football, so it is worth taking both of these backs seriously.

Both Gordon and Wright should be priority additions on the waiver wire this week. Though it is difficult to say exactly how valuable each player really is. Still, if you need reinforcements at running back, this is a golden opportunity.

Beyond these guy, there may not be anyone left to get too excited about.

Don't trust any other Dolphins player in fantasy football this season

When looking at the passing game, there is truly nobody for fantasy managers to get excited about.

Miami's leading receiver by a wide margin is Malik Washington. He has 12 receptions for 152 receiving yards through three games. He has far more targets than any other Dolphins player with 23. However, he still didn't turn that into many fantasy points.

The Dolphins have a few young players in Caleb Douglas and Chris Bell. But both rookies are dealing with injuries and should not be relied upon this season.

In theory, Malik Willis could be a valuable fantasy asset because of his rushing upside. But Willis only has two touchdowns on the season and has little room to succeed. Keep him on your radar but don't get too excited about his potential in 2026.
