The Los Angeles Chargers won both of their season-opening games in their first two seasons under the tutelage of head coach Jim Harbaugh. But there is truly a first time for everything. On Sunday, the Chargers lost a season-opener for the first time under Harbaugh's watch, and they did so in convincing fashion — a 26-14 loss to the Arizona Cardinals despite being at home.

It's difficult to pinpoint just one thing that went wrong for a team that lost this convincingly. Chargers QB Justin Herbert wasn't at his best, completing just 17 of his 27 attempted passes for a total of 209 yards. But Herbert wasn't completely at fault anyhow, as his offensive line wasn't able to help him out very much considering that he was sacked thrice.

The Chargers' defense wasn't very good as well as they bled points especially during the second half. For linebacker Daiyan Henley, he believes that the team as a whole is responsible for this loss and that they have to get it together moving forward.

“We move forward to the next week, ready to bounce back. I think it was just more so our unit and what we can do better. That's how we gonna focus moving on to the week, is about what we can do better, not about the opponent. No one can hurt us more than ourselves. We can fix some things from the front to the back, and make sure we don't have the same mistakes,” Henley told reporters after the game, via Sports Central LA.

The Chargers have made it to the postseason in both of the past two campaigns, and there is a long way to go in this new season. There is plenty of football left to play, and Henley knows this,

“Obviously not the result that we expected. But with that being said, it's only the first week. We know what type of team we have here, what type of team we've been building. We never expected it to be easy,” Henley added.

The Chargers will look to earn their first win of the season next Sunday in a game at home against the Las Vegas Raiders.
