The Dallas Cowboys absolutely needed a huge performance in Week 4 and they delivered. Dallas got a huge game from CeeDee Lamb to help beat Houston 34-30 on Sunday. The Cowboys may also be close to getting a pair of talented players back from injury ahead of their next game.

Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer gave some positive injury updates on a few important players after Sunday's win.

Schottenheimer said that Tyler Smith and DeMarvion Overshown are “trending positively” towards playing against the Buccaneers on Thursday, per Cowboys reporter Tommy Yarrish. However, Schottenheimer noted that the team likely won't have a very good idea of their status until Tuesday.

Smith has been on injured reserve for a month after having surgery to repair a thumb injury early in the season. He was initially given a recovery window of four to six weeks, putting him in range to return soon. Getting Smith back would solidify the left side of the offensive line and hopefully bring more stability to the entire offense.

Meanwhile, Overshown has dealt with injuries throughout his NFL career. He suffered a hamstring injury in Week 1 and has not played since. The fact that Dallas is confident that he could be back soon is great news for the often injured linebacker.

It will be interesting to see how the Cowboys deploy Overshown once he finally returns. Rookie Jaishawn Barham flashed potential during his first three games of the season. The rookie logged 20 total tackles and a forced fumble heading into Week 4, immediately looking like an important playmaker. Barham was not much of a factor in Week 4 though, only managing one solo tackle.

Once Overshown returns, the Cowboys will be blessed with the choice of who to start opposite of Dee Winters at linebacker.

Dallas is now 2-2 on the season and will look to keep the good times rolling into Week 5.

Cowboys vs. Buccaneers kicks off at 8:15 p.m. ET on Oct. 8 from AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
