The Dallas Cowboys are set to take on the Washington Commanders in Week 2 for an NFC East showdown. Leading up to the contest, owner and general manager Jerry Jones greeted fans in the tunnel and had a specific message for one fan of Washington.

Upon arriving at AT&T Stadium, the 83-year-old waved at fans standing in the tunnel before Jones was escorted into the building. He had a grin on his face and appeared to be excited about Sunday's matchup.

While acknowledging the fans, he noticed one individual repping the Commanders. Jerry Jones told that person to tell Washington to be “sweet” to his Cowboys, according to Todd Archer of ESPN. Jones seems to prefer an easy day for his team.

“Tell 'em to be sweet to us,” Jones said to the Commanders fan.

But Sunday's contest should be anything but sweet. Both clubs are attempting to earn their first win of the campaign. The Cowboys especially hope to put the 28-20 Week 1 loss to the New York Giants in the rearview mirror.

However it plays out, this contest against Washington is another chance for Dallas' defense to step up. Jones and the front office made numerous moves during the offseason to improve that side of the ball. Considering how talented the offense is, it's believed that if the defense improves, the Cowboys very well could be a contender in the NFC.

We'll see how it plays out on Sunday. The Cowboys and Commanders will kick off at 4:25 p.m. EST.
