The Dallas Cowboys made a series of roster moves Saturday ahead of their Week 3 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens in Brazil, including placing safety P.J. Locke on injured reserve.
Dallas also signed linebacker Justin Barron to its active roster from the practice squad and elevated cornerback Reddy Steward for Sunday's matchup.
NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported the moves Saturday on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“The #Cowboys placed S P.J. Locke on IR and signed LB Justin Barron to the active roster from the practice squad. They elevated CB Reddy Steward from the practice squad for tomorrow,” Garafolo reported.
Cowboys adjust roster ahead of Ravens matchup
Locke's move to injured reserve removes a veteran option from the Cowboys' secondary as they prepare to face Baltimore. The safety joined Dallas during the offseason after spending the previous six seasons with the Denver Broncos.
Barron's promotion gives the Cowboys additional depth at linebacker. Dallas had previously carried Barron on its practice squad before adding him to the 53-man roster ahead of Sunday's game.
Steward, meanwhile, provides another option in the secondary following Locke's move to injured reserve. His elevation allows him to suit up against Baltimore without requiring Dallas to permanently add him to the active roster.
The Cowboys enter Week 3 with a 1-1 record after bouncing back from their season-opening loss to the New York Giants with a 37-20 victory over the Washington Commanders.
Baltimore also enters the matchup at 1-1 after suffering a 24-17 loss to the New Orleans Saints in Week 2.
Dallas and Baltimore will meet Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET on CBS in Brazil, with both teams looking to move above .500.
