The Dallas Cowboys are currently gearing up for their Thursday Night Football home game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers later this week. The Cowboys are hoping to build on their momentum from a recent narrow road win over the Houston Texans this past weekend.
That game marked the Cowboys debut of cornerback Joey Porter Jr. after the team traded for him with the Pittsburgh Steelers last month, and now, Dallas has gotten a big update on the star's status for Thursday's clash against Tampa Bay.
“Joey Porter Jr is good to go,” reported NFL insider Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network on X, formerly Twitter.
Porter Jr. had been dealing with an ankle issue, but apparently, it's not anything that will keep him out of action on Thursday. Meanwhile, Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield will remain out of the lineup for a second straight week, paving the way for Jalon Walker to make another start.
Teams that the Cowboys have beaten this year have a grand total of one win, and the Buccaneers come into this game at 0-4, so Dallas has to feel good about its chances of continuing to beat up on lesser competition as they look to climb over .500 for the first time this season.
Article Continues BelowDallas hasn't exactly lived up to some of their Super Bowl expectations so far this year, but a win on Thursday would go a long way in continuing to build momentum.
In any case, Dallas and Tampa Bay are slated to kick things off on Thursday at 8:15 pm ET from AT&T Stadium.
