The Dallas Cowboys will be facing the Baltimore Ravens in Week 3, and this could be another test for the offense against a solid defense. So far, the Cowboys' offense has been able to get whatever they want on that side of the ball, but they're still waiting for George Pickens to have one of his big games.
One person who's not worried about the wide receiver's start is Jerry Jones, and he thinks his time is coming soon.
“Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on 105.3thefan on George Pickens: ‘George will get his. There’s no doubt in my mind that when the dust has settled he will absolutely be right there with the top reception leaders in the league in my mind,'” Jon Machota of The Athletic wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
Through two weeks, Pickens only has nine receptions for 68 yards, and that's usually what he can get in a game. Nonetheless, the Cowboys' offense is still humming, and it's been CeeDee Lamb leading the way for the receiver group.
Once Pickens starts getting more involved in the offense, it could be a scary sight for opposing defenses to try and guard, and it'll be interesting to see how they game plan around both him and Lamb. That may be what teams are already doing, but at some point, the Cowboys are going to figure out how to attack it.
Pickens did have a few drops in Week 1 against the New York Giants, so some of it has to be on him to perform better. It's definitely something that the team isn't worried about from him earlier in the season, and all he needs is one game to feel like he's in a flow state.
The game where everything might come together for him may be in a few days.
