The Dallas Cowboys rolled the dice in acquiring cornerback Joey Porter Jr. in a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for draft capital. Porter was amid a contract standoff with the Steelers before the Cowboys pried him away.

He was expected to make his home debut for Dallas in Week 5 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at AT&T Stadium. The 26-year-old Porter, however, sat out due to “stomach issues,” according to owner Jerry Jones, as reported by The Athletic's Jon Machota.

Machota noted that Jones was a little frustrated by it.

“It's disappointing (he's not playing tonight), but we'll have to overcome it. We got our work cut out for us,” said Jones.

Porter made his much-anticipated debut with the Cowboys on Sunday. He played 25 snaps and did not allow a single reception in their win over the Houston Texans.

Before getting shipped to Dallas, Porter was dealing with a back injury, missing several practices with the Steelers. Many, however, grew skeptical about it, claiming that he was just holding out due to his contract dispute.

As of this writing, the Cowboys are trailing the Buccaneers in the third quarter, 21-10.
