Dallas' 2026 campaign started bumpy as it lost 28-20 to the New York Giants in the season opener. They bounced back with the win over Washington this weekend, prompting new comments from Jones. There, he revealed his statement about the defense's quality being better than how it was in past seasons.

“We’re better than we’ve been the last two years on defense,” Jones said, per reporter Jon Machota.

Dak Prescott was remarkably accurate with his throws in the game. He completed 26 out of 31 passes for 279 yards and four touchdowns while rushing four times for 26 yards.

CeeDee Lamb and Jake Ferguson were the receiving stars of the day. Lamb caught eight passes for 153 yards and two touchdowns, while Ferguson made four receptions for 43 yards and two touchdowns. Meanwhile, George Pickens got four catches for 60 yards.

The Cowboys will look forward to their next matchup, traveling to Brazil. They take on the Baltimore Ravens in Week 3 as kickoff commences on Sept. 27 at 4:25 p.m. ET.
