UFC 332: Silva vs. Wang kicks off the early prelims with a fight between Court McGee and Eric Nolan in the welterweight division. Check out our UFC 332 odds series for our McGee-Nolan prediction and pick.

Court McGee (23-14) enters his retirement fight after a unanimous-decision loss to Michael Chiesa in June 2025. Before that, he submitted Tim Means with a first-round neck crank at UFC 307, his first finish since 2010, as he comes into his fight this weekend against Eric Nolan (8-5).

Eric Nolan (8-5) enters UFC 332 still seeking his first UFC win. He dropped a second-round submission to Baisangur Susurkaev at UFC 319 in August 2025, then lost a three-round unanimous decision to Farman Hasanov in June 2026, as he comes into his fight this weekend against Court McGee.

Why Court McGee Will Win

Court McGee can beat Eric Nolan by turning this matchup into a grinding battle rather than an open striking exchange. Nolan’s consecutive UFC defeats exposed grappling weaknesses, giving McGee a clear tactical target despite his own inconsistent recent results.

Nolan struggled against Farman Hasanov’s relentless wrestling in June, losing every round on all three scorecards in a unanimous decision. McGee should attack that vulnerability with clinch pressure, repeated takedown attempts, and positional control that limits Nolan’s opportunities to generate offense.

The veteran does not need to dominate every exchange; he needs to make Nolan defend instead of settle into rhythm. Pressing Nolan against the fence and forcing him to repeatedly regain his feet would create opportunities to bank valuable minutes.

Nolan’s submission loss to Baisangur Susurkaev also makes sustained grappling pressure an attractive route, particularly if McGee can secure back control. However, Nolan showed resilience against Hasanov, so expecting an easy finish would underestimate his willingness to scramble and keep fighting.

If he consistently closes distance and avoids prolonged striking battles, this matchup offers a realistic opportunity to finish his career with victory.

Why Eric Nolan Will Win

Eric Nolan can beat Court McGee by making their matchup a test of speed and athleticism rather than experience. At 29, Nolan is twelve years younger, giving him a potential physical advantage if he keeps exchanges sharp and avoids clinches.

The strongest argument for Nolan is that McGee must work for every opportunity to wrestle, rather than receive easy entries. Nolan should circle away from the fence, establish his jab, and force the veteran to reset before launching sustained combinations.

Nolan’s two UFC losses expose the danger here, particularly after Farman Hasanov repeatedly took him down in their June meeting. However, those setbacks offer a clear blueprint for improvement: prioritize defensive positioning, avoid overcommitting, and immediately fight for separation whenever McGee closes distance.

McGee remains dangerous when he establishes grappling control, but Nolan does not need to dominate every phase to win rounds. He needs cleaner striking exchanges, disciplined movement, and enough successful defensive sequences to prevent the veteran from dictating the action.

Youth alone guarantees nothing, but combining that advantage with patient offense could help Nolan spoil McGee’s farewell and secure his first UFC victory on Saturday.

Final Court McGee-Eric Nolan Prediction & Pick

Court McGee is my pick to beat Eric Nolan by unanimous decision at UFC 332. His clearest route is wrestling, where Nolan’s recent performances suggest a vulnerability the veteran can exploit.

Nolan enters with an 8-5 record, but both UFC appearances ended in defeat. Against Farman Hasanov, he conceded 17 takedowns and more than 11 minutes of control, raising concerns about his ability to stay upright.

McGee should prioritize pressure, clinch exchanges, and repeated takedown attempts rather than prolonged striking battles. Making Nolan defend constantly could limit his offense while giving McGee opportunities to bank rounds.

Nolan remains dangerous if he creates space and forces McGee into exchanges at range. However, I expect McGee’s experience to help him recognize that risk and keep this matchup focused on positional control.

This is hardly a guaranteed farewell victory, especially with Nolan favored by bookmakers. Still, McGee’s grappling offers the more convincing path to a decision.
