The Washington Commanders will be facing the Seattle Seahawks in Week 3, and Marcus Mariota's time has once again started with the team. With Jayden Daniels injuring his elbow last week and uncertainty surrounding when he'll be back on the field, Mariota will slot in as the starting quarterback, something he's been familiar with doing since last season.
Mariota will have a few different options to work with this time around, as he has Stefon Diggs to throw the ball to. He actually threw him a touchdown pass against the Dallas Cowboys, and the hope is that continues for however long that he's the starter.
Before their Week 3 game, Diggs was asked what the scouting report would be for his quarterback, and he threw in a few jokes but also complimented Mariota on his arm.
“I don't know nothing about it; I think he's alright. We'll see. I don't know. He can throw a good ball, he's been in the league for a long time. I got a lot of confidence in him,” Diggs said.

There's no need for Diggs to know the scouting report for Mariota, and all he needs to know is if he's in the right position to catch the ball from him. Mariota seems to be happy in this position, being able to come in for Daniels and produce, but he knows he can't do it alone.
“The more that I can get these guys the ball, the playmakers, especially faster, the more space they get, the more they can do with it,” Mariota said. “I used to joke that they tackle the guy with the ball, so the more I can get it out of my hands, then by all means.
“But in the same token, it takes a lot, right? Your offensive line has to be able to hold. Our guys upfront, the receivers, they gotta get open in that type of timing. So, it takes a collective group effort.”
