The Washington Commanders are in a dogfight against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1. Unfortunately, the defense may have to continue the contest without one of its starting linebackers due to injury.

Reports indicate that Frankie Luvu is officially questionable to return after sustaining a groin injury, according to Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia. The injury took place during the third quarter of the matchup.

“Washington LB Frankie Luvu (groin) is questionable to return,” Zangaro reported.

The 29-year-old linebacker recorded four tackles and a sack before suffering the injury. Washington will continue evaluating Luvu before determining his status for the remainder of the game. His presence in the front seven will be missed by the Commanders.
