The Indianapolis Colts have already been active on the trade market, dealing away veterans DeForest Buckner and Quentin Nelson to NFC contenders amid a rebuild. Running back Jonathan Taylor is the next big name expected to leave the Colts' stable, and he's not short on suitors.

During his appearance on The Pivot, NFL insider Jordan Schultz shared that a handful of teams are in the running for the star running back.

“I would say this on JT (Jonathan Taylor). My understanding is that 5-6 teams have been aggressively pursuing him: Giants, Packers, Broncos, Seahawks, Bengals, Vikings. I believe he also would be open to a fresh start. And I think it'll take at least a second-round plus, call it plus additional compensation to get it done. And I actually do expect that to happen.”

While Schultz suggests a second-round pick would likely get it done to land Taylor, another report claims that the Colts are looking for a “Christian McCaffrey-type” package, which would include multiple picks. But it remains to be seen whether any of the interested teams will be willing to meet that lofty asking price.

Still, whoever lands Taylor will get one of the league leaders in rushing over the last two seasons. He finished fourth in 2024 with 1,431 yards and third in 2025 with 1,585. But he did lead the league with 18 touchdowns last season.

This season, Taylor is not on pace to reach those numbers amid the Colts' struggles. Through eight games, he has just 610 yards on 4.1 yards per carry, which is a career low. However, he still has eight touchdowns, which is tied for second in the league.
